YOGA: Your intention is more important during your sadhana (yoga practice) than just doing the yoga....practice with compassion and respect for yourself~
WARM BEVERAGES / WATER Drinking warm water throughout the day helps carry toxins out of the system, speeds up metabolism, and is very beneficial first thing in the morning. It can help contribute to healthy weight loss too. It's actually best to avoid cold beverages with meals that can slow down digestion and metabolism. Did you know that the recommended amount of water to drink each day is eight 8 oz glasses?! One easy way to do this is to purchase a refillable 32 oz water bottle, then fill it up in the morning and drink, and fill it up in the early afternoon and drink. Try to finish before 4pm so that you aren't up all night using the bathroom.

Arnica Montana can also be taken internally. The company that sells this is Boiron and there are others. This is a very wonderful resource when muscles are tight, sore, or for trauma after an injury or car accident. This homeopathic medicine can be found at most health food stores. Kitchari: Kitchari is a mixture of basmati rice and mung dal with spices suited for your dosha. This nourishing food is well balanced and provides an excellent protein combination. Kitchari is commonly used during panchakarma (a cleansing program) and is eaten as a mono-fast because it is easy to digest, provides strength and vitality, and is excellent for detoxification and de-aging of the cells.
Tridoshic Kitchari: Warm 3 tablespoons of ghee in large pot Add spices: 1 1/2 inch piece of cinnamon bark 5 whole cardamom pods 5 whole cloves 10 balck peppercorns 3 bay leaves 1/2 teaspoon turmeric 1 teaspoon, cumin seeds 1/4 teaspoon salt
Then add 1/2 cup washed split yellow mung dal and one cup washed basmati rice, mix together well and then add 6 cups of fresh water... boil for 5 minutes stirring occasionally, then turn to low heat, cover and simmer for about 25 minutes. Remove bay leaves and cloves before eating.
Enjoy this nourishing and revitalizing meal three times a day and drink plenty of hot tea with meals and in between. It is recommended to take Tripahla at night as a further detox aid.
